When it comes to having dental problems, and needing a tooth extraction done, there are certain foods you need to have beforehand to ensure you are able to eat without starving yourself. It can be hard to be able to eat the foods you want when you have problems with your teeth.
Dental Friendly FoodsCertain foods can hurt your teeth and gums before you get the tooth or teeth pulled and afterwards, while you are waiting for a partial or dentures, you will have problems eating solid food because you are missing some or all of your teeth. Here is some information on what you can eat that will keep you full and that is also soft enough to be able to eat them.Applesauce, Apricots, or Peaches You can buy applesauce that is already well-blended, and it will fill you up and keep you satisfied. However, if you do not want applesauce, you can buy apricots and peaches and blend them up and eat them like applesauce. These fruits will keep you satisfied for a few hours. Mashed Potatoes You can either make these homemade, which is best, but it takes longer, or you can go the easy way and buy a box of instant mashed potatoes. Instant potatoes just take a few minutes to make and they will fill you up. Just let them cool down before eating them or you will burn your mouth and throat. Broth or Soup You can also drink chicken or beef broth and eat thin soups to fill yourself up and stay satisfied. You can do the same with the broth as you would with the potatoes and either make it yourself, which tastes better but takes longer. Or you can buy beef or chicken stock and heat it up and drink it. There are many more types of soft foods you can have on hand before you have a tooth extraction to eat after the tooth extraction. As always, make sure to contact us for more information on this and anything else you need to know.
