Brushing the teeth is vital if you are maintaining oral hygiene. When brushing the teeth, you are preventing your teeth from getting tooth decay and your mouth from developing gum disease. The toothpaste that you use will determine your health. The best toothpaste to use is that that contains fluoride.

Fluoride tooth paste

Fluoride is a mineral that is in the toothpaste and drinking water, it strengthens the teeth. Fluoride prevents tooth decay and so it is a mineral that you should look for in your toothpaste. When the teeth are strong this reduces cavities which is a major cause for tooth loss.

Whitening toothpaste

Using whitening toothpaste is good for it makes your teeth whiter and shiny. The whitening toothpaste is effective if it has fluoride in it. The whitener toothpaste has compounds that bleach and remove stains on teeth. For the external stains use of whitening toothpaste is good and effective. If you notice that your gums are hurting or get red sores switch to another type of toothpaste. This can mean that your mouth is allergic to the whitening toothpaste.

Tartar Control toothpaste

Tartar is plaque that has begun to calcify, brushing and flossing daily should be able to remove plaque before it forms tartar. Overtime accumulation of tartar might be difficult to brush and floss. This will eventually lead to gum damage leading to gum disease. The tartar control toothpaste has compounds that kill bacteria in the mouth preventing plaque from building up.
